About 36-thousand toys made by some 140 companies in Japan and abroad are on display.

At this year's toy show, parents and children are encouraged to play together and have fun.

This toys include a golf simulation video game.

The toy's computer system analyses the speed and movement of the golf club. It displays the virtual ball's trajectory on the computer screen.

Shoya Hayashi, Visitor, said, "I like playing with my dad better than playing on my own."

Yoichi Hayashi, Father, said,

"This can be a family communication tool. I like it."

Toy makers say these products are designed to help improve communication between children and their parents.

Daisuke Hirano, Spokesman, Epoch Company, said, "We want to create a game that children and their parents can play together and would eventually improve their communication. Many fathers like playing golf so that makes both kids and dads happy."

Other toys on show include one that allows children and parents to make accessories together.

Another attention-grabber is a toy that creates edible sweets shaped like insects or dinosaurs.
