An investigation team has been established to examine the twin oil pipeline explosions that occurred in northeast China's coastal city of Dalian on Friday. Local authorities say the findings of the investigation will take at least ten days.

The incident happened after a 300,000 ton oil tanker discharged its load into the harbor. Both pipelines that caught fire are owned by the China National Petroleum Corporation.

The investigation, which began on Sunday morning, will look into whether the CNPC or the tanker's owners should be blamed. All major fires at the site have now been extinguished. No casualties have been reported.
