One of the focuses of the International AIDS Conference the epidemic's threats to young people. According to new reports, of all the people who contract AIDS every year, more than half are below 25. AIDS has been spreading fast among younger people.

In recent years, although the number of AIDS cases has been falling, South Sahara regions remain the hardest-hit areas. The spread of AIDS through mother-to-fetus-transmission has not been brought under control. Due to this, the UN has made it clear that stopping mother-to-fetus-transmission is its main work. To make matters worse, because of the economic crisis, money donated by developed countries has decreased by the equivalent of 100 million US dollars. Now, the UN is asking more countries to give economic support, and do their best to stop the spread of AIDS.
