In recent years, although the number of AIDS cases has been falling, South Sahara regions remain the hardest-hit areas. The spread of AIDS through mother-to-fetus-transmission has not been brought under control. Due to this, the UN has made it clear that stopping mother-to-fetus-transmission is its main work. To make matters worse, because of the economic crisis, money donated by developed countries has decreased by the equivalent of 100 million US dollars. Now, the UN is asking more countries to give economic support, and do their best to stop the spread of AIDS.
