UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has met British Prime Minister David Cameron in New York. The two exchanged views on the full range of current global challenges.
Wednesday's meeting marked Cameron's first visit to the UN Headquarters as Prime Minister. Both presented a united front on the Afghan war, sanctions against Iran and efforts toward Middle East peace.
They agreed that the current strategy in Afghanistan was right, and a political surge was an essential part of the next phase of the campaign.
They also urged Israel and the Palestinians to engage in direct peace talks.
