The US has urged British authorities to review the release the alleged bomber of the 1988 Lockerbie air disaster.
Abdelbaset al-Megrahi was previously serving a life sentence for the bombing of passenger plane that killed 270 people.
US State Department spokesman PJ Crowley said Washington disagrees with the release of al-Megrahi, who is terminally ill, on compassionate grounds.
Earlier this week, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called for British authorities to review their decision. US President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron also asked for a review of the facts that led to the decision.
