African Union leaders have agreed to reinforce the peacekeeping force in Somalia, as they try to bring the country's security situation under control.
They made the pledge at a summit in Uganda's capital, Kampala. The AU will provide an extra two thousand troops to boost numbers to more than eight thousand.
Leaders also discussed maternal, infant and child health at the summit, along with how to promote Africa's interests on the international stage.
