World record holder Usain Bolt has lost his first 100 meter dash final in over two years, after being edged out by American Tyson Gay, at a Diamond League meet in Stockholm.
Gay got off a quick start, and was narrowly ahead by the halfway point, before storming clear to win in a meet record 9.84 seconds his first victory over Bolt.
The Jamaican triple Olympic champion, who looked somewhat out of sorts, clocked in at 9.97 seconds. Bolt's last defeat also came in Stockholm, when he finished behind compatriot Asafa Powell in July 2008.
