We're about to meet a vice-captain of an armed police rescue team who lost four family members in the disaster, including his wife and unborn child. Wang Wei says he has done his best to save trapped survivors, trying not to think about the sorrow of losing his loved ones. He says after rescue work is complete, he will write a letter to his wife in heaven.
After a day of intense rescue work, Wang Wei visits the cosmetic shop, he and his wife have been managing for 4 years. A place full of so many beautiful memories.
On Saturday night, when the landslide struck, he lost 4 family members, including his wife. They had been married for just 3 months and were expecting a baby.
Wang Wei says his wife called him just before the mudslide hit, but he was busy at work and didn't receive the call. He didn't know that was the last chance he had to speak to his wife.
After the disaster, Wang Wei received orders to take part in the rescue operation. He didn't have time to save his own family members first.
Wang Wei says he knew the hours after the landslide hit was the best chance to help find survivors alive. He says he hopes his wife understands.
He says after the rescue work finishes, he will write a letter to his wife.
Wiping away his tears, Wang Wei went back to continue rescue work. He says he will do everything he can to help the victims. A way to commemorate his wife and family.
