Cambodian Prime Minister, Hun Sen says he will ask UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to play the role of coordinator for a contentious border issues with Thailand.
Hun Sen stresses bilateral border talks will not be resumed, unless Thai legislature approves border agreements previously reached by both countries. He also says a third party will be invited, such as the UN or ASEAN to join the border discussions.
The recent flare up came after Cambodia's Preah Vihear Temple was registered as a World Heritage Site in 2008. The two countries have been involved in war of words concerning who owns the sovereignty over the ancient site.
