Fires continue to spread across Bolivia, as local authorities struggle to contain the blazes. Officials admitted they didn't have the necessary equipment to tackle the flames.

The fires are located within the the areas of Santa Cruz, Tarija, Beni, Pando, and La Paz. Many of the fires were originally started by farmers, who burn forests and grasslands in the summer to renew and expand their agricultural lands. An ongoing drought is also worsening the situation, leaving little water to fight the fires.

On Friday, Bolivian authorities declared a state of emergency, and asked for assistance from Brazil and Argentina.
