Iran unveils missile-launching assault boats

Iran has unveiled two missile-launching assault boats as part of the country's recent show and tell of its military infrastructure.

State TV showed pictures of the boats called Zol-faghar and Seraj. The Zol-faghar is equipped with cruise missiles, while the Seraj is a high-speed patrol boat. Iran's Defense Minister says the Islamic Revolutionary Guards will operate the vessels to provide security in the region. The boat launch comes a day after President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad unveiled Iran's first domestically-built long-range unmanned bomber.

Last week, Iran test fired a new surface-to-surface missile. The President says he wants Iran's military to be self-sufficient and hopes to send an astronaut to space before 2025.
