The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has reviewed draft amendments to the country's Criminal Law, which propose changes to ease sentences against offenders aged under 18.
The amendment proposes a juvenile criminal should be treated more leniently even if they do re-offend within five years.
The amendment also suggests the probation system should apply for juveniles. If these changes are made into law, juveniles who are sentenced to less than five years in prison, will not receive a criminal record.
