China's National Meteorological Bureau has sounded its tropical storm alarm. It is warning that the tropical low pressure system Namtheum, together with tropical storms Lionrock and Kompasu could hit south-east coastal areas of China.
The stronger of the two, Storm Kompasu, is moving northwest at a speed of up to 20 kilometers per hour. The two tropical storms and the low pressure system will jointly bring rainstorms and powerful winds to the coastal regions of Zhejiang on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Meanwhile, torrential rains are forecast to hit Fujian province, with rainfall of more than 300 millimeters in some coastal regions over the next three days. All ships and fishing boats off the coasts of Fujian and Zhejiang have been advised to take shelter from storms.
