The US is re-launching Israeli-Palestinian talks this week in a third attempt to solve one of the world's most intractable conflicts. However neither Palestinian nor Israeli residents are optimistic about negotiations ending successfully.
Palestinian resident Abdul karim Mahamed said, "I do not think there will be any success because Israel is not giving any sign that it will change its position. We have negotiated for the last seventeen years and what have we got? Nothing."
An Israeli resident said, "I'm not so much optimistic about the conversation between the Israelis and the Arabs because so many times they met already before and nothing came out of it. Especially when I see the newspapers and I listen to the radio and I see that neither side is coming with an optimistic view, so I don't really believe that something is going to happen."
