People across China celebrate victory in war against Japan

Live cross: Ceremony held at Pearl Harbor


September 3rd marks the 65th anniversary of China's victory in its war of resistance against Japanese aggression and as well as victory in World War Two. Around the world, Chinese embassies are also marking China's victory against Japanese aggression.

In Moscow

The Chinese embassy in Moscow held ceremonies with Russian representatives on Thursday at a World War II Memorial. Over 160 people from all circles participated.

In Britain

On the same day, the Chinese embassy in Britain held a commemorative symposium and reception to celebrate Chinese people's defeat of Japanese aggression and the final victory.


On Wednesday evening, China's Permanent Mission to the UN and the Chinese consulate-general in New York held a joint series of activities to commemorate the war victory.

In Japan

In Japan, a similar symposium and reception were also held by the Chinese embassy. And around 80 people, including overseas Chinese in Japan, overseas students representatives and Japanese people from all walks of life, attended the symposium.

Muraoda Kyuhei, Chairman of Japan-China Friendship Association, said, "Not to forget the history is to better face the future. That's the meaning of today's reception."

After the symposium, more than 200 people attended a reception held by the Chinese embassy in Japan.

During World War II, China made a great contribution to the world's victory against fascism.
