A Pakistani general has praised China for aid sent to the flood-ravaged country.

Chairman of the Pakistan Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Tariq Majid, made the comments at a mobile hospital set up by a Chinese aid team in Pakistan.

He said China's assistance reflects the strength of friendship between the two countries, saying both countries stand side-by-side during difficult times.

China sent humanitarian aid worth 120 million yuan in response to the worst flooding in Pakistani history.

General Tariq Majid, Chairman of the Pakistan Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee: "China's help and assistance is not one-time help and assistance, it is not conditional assistance.

"That only reflects strength of friendship between the two countries. We always stand by each other at difficult times."
