The Philippine panel investigating the August 23rd Manila hostage crisis has reconstructed the scene of the tragedy.

After Monday's reenactment, Philippine Justice Secretary and investigation committee chief, Leila de Lima, said a final report on the investigation will be released before the end of this week.

After interviewing survivors in Hong Kong, members of the investigating team reconstructed the Manila hostage crisis, in an attempt to study the possibility that victims may have been shot by police during their rescue operation.

Leila De Lima, Philippine Justice Secretary, said, "We tried to reconstruct the actual occurrences during the crucial shooting moments from the survivors' account, not just from the bus driver, but also the survivors that were interviewed by our team who came from Hong Kong."

Leila de Lima said last week that some of the hostages may have been hit by bullets from law enforcement officers, as forensic reports showed most of the victims were not shot at close range.

The Philippine Justice Secretary added that it remains unclear just how they died, as available evidence indicated there were approximately 30 shots from outside the bus that were not fired by police snipers.

The Reuters News Agency says it's possible that policemen deployed in other places fired those shots.

The final report on the investigation is expected to be publicized no later than September the 17th.
