Free trade talks between EU, Malaysia begin

Free trade talks between the EU and Malaysia, began in Brussels on Tuesday. The talks involve tariff-cutting, market-opening deals with the EU.

A trade agreement, would provide Malaysia, with quality investments from Europe and open up new market opportunities for Malaysian and European businesses.

Malaysian Prime Minister Mohd Najib Abdul Razak said, "I am so delighted that I am able to announce that we will commence negotiations with the European Union to establish an FTA agreement and a Partnership Cooperation Agreement which will herald a new chapter in terms of our bilateral relationship with the EU. Its very very significant because I am confident with these two agreements we will propel our relationship with the EU to a much greater level."
