CCTV News is undergoing a drastic revamp to improve its reporting and give viewers their own window into China and Asia. The relaunch comes a decade of CCTV's English channel was launched, and signals the start of new and exciting direction.

The countdown is on.

CCTV News is gearing up for its next evolution.

CCTV reporter Shen Le said, "This evolution is no ordinary facelift. In fact, the management of the channel has big plans for the future."

At a meeting room in a nearby hotel, the big plans are unfolding.

CCTV News announced its plan to relaunch the channel in November - a move that involves a recruitment drive for new anchors. This is a part of the channel's long term strategy to establish itself as the best English news channel in Asia.

Senior CCTV News presenter Zou Yue is at the helm of the anchors team. He's witnessed many changes at the channel over the past decade, but is particularly excited about its new path.

Zou said, "First of all, they should have a good grasp of the language and I wish them good luck."

Other senior anchors also welcome the changes.

Yang said, "Of course we expect to see new faces. We need to inject new vigor into the team's spirit."

New faces at CCTV News will also invigorate the channel, according to those in the newsroom.

Copy editor Tom Fearon said, "I think it's another step the channel has taken towards. I think it'll be a good thing for the channel."

The new look of the channel will go online on November 15th. But until then, the staff will carry on with their daily routines.
