Clashes leave 1 dead, 25 injured in Cairo

Hundreds of Coptic Christians in Egypt, have clashed with local police in the capital Cairo, over the construction of a new church. The protests have left at least 1 dead and 25 injured.

The protestors have blocked a main street near a local government office building. They hurled stones at police, to protest against the government's refusal to let them finish building a new church in the area. Dozens of police surrounded the protestors and fired tear gas to break up the demonstration. Nearly 100 protestors were arrested after the clash.
