China, US start trade talks in Washington

China and the United States have kicked off their annual trade talks in Washington DC. With high-ranking officials of both countries beginning the session in small groups on Tuesday afternoon.

Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan is co-chairing the meeting with US Commerce Secretary Gary Locke and Trade Representative Ron Kirk. The two sides will exchange views on issues such as trade,investment,technologies, and intellectual property rights.The JCCT began in 1983 as a platform for both countries to promote trade, and address issues of mutual concern.

China hopes healthy dev't of Sino-US trade

China's foreign ministry says it hopes the China-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade will succeed in extending bilateral cooperation and boosting the healthy development of bilateral trade. Full story >>
