Iran's official IRNA news agency says 2 suicide bombings have killed at least 38 people.

The report adds that the attacker struck outside the Imam Hussein Mosque, in the southeastern port city of Chahbahar near the border with Pakistan, on Wednesday afternoon.

The bombers targeted a group of worshippers at a mourning ceremony a day before a holiday which commemorates the death of one of Shiite Islam's most beloved saints.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but the use of multiple suicide attackers to target Shiite worshippers is a tactic Sunni militant groups in the country, have employed in the past.
