The curtain has fallen on the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Para Games. Athletes and artists from across the continent concluded the week-long event in style at the Guangdong Olympic Stadium.
Guangzhou bid farewell to the 2010 Asian Para Games with a spectacular closing ceremony.
The event's performers shared the spotlight with para athletes, who showed their appreciation to the crowd.
The closing ceremony embraced the themes of reunion and departure.
Addressing the capacity-stadium crowd, officials extended their congratulations to athletes and thanked them for contributing to the success of the 2010 Asian Para Games.

Wang Xinxian, President of Chinese Paralympic Committee, said, "We can say proudly that the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Para Games were a complete success under the theme, "We Cheer, We Share, We Win". We are confident that the Asian Para Games flame with the value of humanitarianism will forever light the way of human progress and a better tomorrow."
Dato’zainal Abu Zarin, President of Asian Paralympic Committee, said, "You promised a Games of equal splendor and I’m delighted to say you duly delivered.In a quick evaluation meeting,the APC Board declared that the Guangzhou Asian Para Games are the best Games for athletes ever staged in Asia so far.
At the end of the closing ceremony, the flag and torch were handed over to delegates representing the 2014 Asian Para Games host country, South Korea.
The Guangzhou Asian Para Games were the first to be held after the Asian Paralympic Committee was established in 2006.
For Guangzhou, the Asian Games may be over. But the city can celebrate its achievement of setting a high benchmark for future Asian Para Games.
