Hu says China, US together should contribute more to the world

President Hu Jintao has arrived in Chicago, where he had dinner with mayor Richard Daley. Chicago is the second stop on the Chinese leader's state visit to the US follows meetings in Washington with US President Barack Obama on major bilateral and world issues.

Hu Jintao met with Chicago mayor Richard Daley. He says the two countries should shoulder more important common responsibilities on issues of promoting world economic growth, maintaining world peace, and advancing sustainable global development.

Chicago Mayor Richard Daley noted that his city wants to be the gateway for China to the US. President Hu Jintao also delivered a speech at the welcoming dinner hosted by Mayor Richard Daley. He said local exchange and cooperation contribute much to the Sino-US relations.

In Chicago, President Hu Jintao will meet with local officials, visit a high school and an exhibition of Chinese enterprises in midwestern America.
