As the joint military drills between South Korea and the US begin, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is vowing to take "resolute military measures" against these exercises.

A statement from the Korean Peoples Army says the exercises are "very dangerous military moves" and a "serious challenge" to the common goal of the nation ,...which is to relax the tension on the Peninsula. The document also says, the DPRK will respond to "reckless provocation" with "an all-out war at any time".

Also, a commentary carried by the DPRK's state-run paper says that all provocations and military threats should be stopped, adding that the ceaseless South Korean-US military exercises are one of the most important reasons for the deterioration of peace on the peninsula.
