Archeologists in northwest China's Shaanxi Province have opened an ancient tomb, which dates back some two-thousand years.

The tomb forms part of a mausoleum complex in the southern suburbs of Xi'an, which experts say belonged to the noble family of Zhang Anshi, of the Western Han dynasty.

On Friday, a special camera was inserted into number 13 tomb, giving archeologists a view of the Han-era lacquer-work, copper rings and jade inside.

The number 13 tomb is the only one in the Zhang Anshi mausoleum complex that has escaped plunder and remains intact.

It's "ante-room" was also opened on Saturday. The most important work for archeologists is to immediately protect the relics from the air outside, once they are removed.
