NATO missiles strike Al-Aziziyah

04-16-2011 08:18 BJT Special Report:Int'l Intervention in Libya |

In Libya, NATO warplanes have launched air strikes on Al-Aziziyah, for a second straight day. While in Misrata, a fresh hail of government rockets crashed into the rebel-held city.

The attack on Misrata came after Western allies denounced a "medieval siege" of the city, and vowed to keep bombing Muammar Gaddafi's forces until he stepped down.

At least 120 rockets hit rebel positions in the city. On the outskirts of Aj-DA-biyah, government forces opened fire on rebels fighters. One rebel soldier was shot dead and two others were wounded.

Meanwhile, NATO is also reported to have recently launched air attacks on the town of Sirte, the birthplace of Muammar Gaddafi.
