Senior CPC official Li Changchun arrives in Mozambique

Li Changchun, a senior official of the Communist Party of China, has arrived in Mozambique for an official goodwill visit.

Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, said that his visit aims to further strengthen China-Mozambique political trust, expand consensus and consolidate country-to-country and party-to-party ties in the new era.

He noted that both China and Mozambique are developing countries,and further enhancing the friendship meets the fundamental interests of both countries and peoples. He said it is also of vital importance to boosting the growth of the new China-Africa strategic partnership, as well as the solidarity among developing countries.

Before leaving for Mozambique, Li met with Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki. Li said that after diplomatic relations were formed between China and Kenya, the two countries have constantly enhanced high-level political consultation and dialogue on the basis of equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit. After the meeting, Li and Kibaki attended a signing ceremony for cooperation agreements between China and Kenya.
