Fourteen people have been killed and twenty one injured after a bus and a fuel truck collided in Venezuela.

The accident occurred in rural Guarico state, involving a small passenger bus and a state gas company tanker. The area had recently experienced heavy rains, which may have been a contributing factor to the crash. The local mayor described the incident as unfortunate.

Porfirio Fajardo, Mayor of Calabozo, Guarico State, said, "This is a regrettable accident. The Guarico State government, through the Civil Protection Agency, the Municipality of Calabozo, the fire department and the team of doctors and nurses treating the wounded, are working to resolve the situation as soon as possible, and to return the deceased to their families."
