Young protesters, spearheading the opposition movement in the Yemen's capital Sanaa, say that they’ll form a transitional council, unless acting president Mansour Hadi, forms one within the next 24 hours.

Leading protester Yasser Al-Ra’eeni said, "We will give Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi 24 hours, which will not be extended even by one hour. If he has not explained his position regarding the transitional council by that time, we will form a council ourselves in coordination with the political parties and the military. If the political parties do not want to take part in forming the council then the youth will form it."

Protesters in Yemen are trying to put more pressure on Hadi to form a transitional council and create a new government, with participation from all the political parties. Leaders of the youth movement have been camping in Sanaa and other cities for almost four months.

Yemen's political opposition held talks with the country's acting leader on Monday in a bid to defuse months of violent political deadlock over the future of President Saleh. Saleh has refused to leave, office nearly six months of street protests and many diplomatic attempts to remove him. He's now been forced to seek medical treatment in Saudi Arabia for wounds suffered in an attack on his palace earlier this month.
