A spokesperson for NATO has condemned Muammar Gaddafi's latest fiery speech, in which the Libyan leader vowed to defeat the alliance and still hold on to power. She called the televised address "outrageous."

NATO officials have meanwhile released pictures of what they say are government forces firing rockets from a religious site. They claim that Gadaffi forces are using mosques as launching pads, and children's parks as potential human shields. The Libyan administration, on the other hand, accuses the western alliance of deliberately targeting civilian buildings.

Meanwhile, gun battles between Gaddafi's troops and opposition fighters in the country's northwest, have killed at least 8 rebels, and wounded 13 more. One insurgent soldier says the ongoing clashes started on Friday. Authorities in Tripoli made no immediate comment.
