China: UN forces mandate extension should not be politicalized

Chinese Ambassador to the United Nations has commented on UN's decision to extend the mandate of UN forces in the Golan Heights between Israel and Syria.

Ambassador Wang Min said the extension of UN monitoring forces should not be politicalized. He said the Syria problems in the country's internal issue and should be solved through dialogues and negotiation by Syria itself. The extention of UN monitoring forces and the Syria problem are two completely different issues and should not be related together, in order to avoid complicating the issue.

He also said that the international community should contribute to a just and steady middle east. In Wednesday agreement, the UN security council has extended the UN Disengagement Obaserver Forces by six months until December 31st this year.
