Philippine foreign minister visits China

Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary, Albert del Rosario, has arrived in Beijing on a two-day visit to China. He is scheduled to hold talks with his Chinese counterpart, Yang Jiechi, on Friday.

The two ministers are expected to discuss territorial disputes in the South China Sea, as well as trade, investment, and tourism. They will also hold talks on strengthening cooperation in defense and against transnational crimes.

Rosario said his trip to China aims to advance bilateral ties. Meanwhile, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Beijing also has the same hope for Rosario's visit.

Hong Lei, Spokesman of Chinese Foreign Ministry said "The two sides will exchange views on how to strengthen high-level exchanges, promote mutually beneficial ties and handle specific issues in bilateral and regional cooperation in east Asia."
