China, Russia celebrate 10th anniversary of friendship treaty in Moscow

The Chinese Embassy in Russia has held a reception in Moscow, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the China-Russia Treaty of Good Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation.

China's Ambassador to Russia, Li Hui, said the pact has become more vigorous as time has gone by, and bilateral relations have reached an all-time high. He also pledged to cherish the achievements made so far in Sino-Russian relations, and increase efforts to boost people-to-people contacts.

Friday's reception gathered nearly 600 representatives from the two countries, including Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov.

Two-way trade has increased from about 8 billion US dollars in 2000, to nearly 60 billion dollars last year.

The China-Russia Treaty of Good Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation was signed in Moscow on July 16th, 2001.
