Plan announced for E. China train crash victims

The Rescue and Compensation Headquarters of last month's bullet train accident have announced a compensation and assistance plan for passengers wounded in the crash.

According to the plan, compensation and social assistance will be distributed according to passengers' degree of injuries, and the per capita disposable income of Zhejiang urban residents.

For passengers not crippled in the accident, compensation will cover medical expenses incurred in hospital. For passengers suffering a degree 1 to 10 disability, compensation will be distributed according to disability compensation standards.

They include medical expenses, charges for loss of working time, disability compensation and disability equipment fees. Passengers who suffered critical injuries, serious injuries, and minor injuries will also receive one-off social assistance.
