Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh's secretary says, the president will return to the country soon, after his last round of recuperation therapy. The secretary has also unveiled some details between the meeting of John Brennan, the US president's assistant for counter terrorism and home security, and Saleh in Saudi Arabia.

Ahmedal Soufi, Yemeni President’s Secretary, said, "Brennan said to Saleh that the US wished Saleh would stay in Riyadh for long-term treatment, instead of returning to Yemen, and promised to Saleh that he would not be brought to trial. Saleh replied that he would go back to Yemen soon, and his return was non-negotiable. He was neither Hosni Mubarak, nor Ben Ali."

Soufi says, Saleh is receiving the last session of rehabilitation in Saudi Arabia. Saleh has held dialogues with several leaders of Yemen, and Saudi Arabia, and has been watching closely the developments in Yemen. But the president insists that any dialogue conducted outside Yemen cannot solve the country's problems. Soufi says Saleh hopes the government can communicate directly with the opposition, and there should be little interference from the US or other Western countries.

Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who has been receiving treatment for blast wounds in Saudi Arabia since early June, will return "soon," deputy information minister Abdo al-Janadi said Saturday.
