In Colombia, a seismic fault running underneath the city of Cartagena has forced the evacuation of one of the city's poorer neighborhoods.

The neighborhood in Cartagena has been heavily damaged by large cracks in the roads and sidewalks. According to local network RCN, 350 houses collapsed, and 550 residences were seriously damaged. The local government has organized the evacuation of the neighborhood, and so far 500 families have left the area.

The city mayor said that even those whose houses are still unaffected won't be able to return to the area. Constant tremors due to the geological fault plus heavy rains this year that have caused landslides in the nearby hills, have made the area a dangerous place for its residents.
