Typhoon Nanmadol has made its landfall in Taiwan, bringing heavy rains and high winds to the island.

Nanmadol landed on the eastern part of the island early on Monday morning, forcing evacuations in the island's south and east. Schools have been closed. Domestic and international flights have been disrupted. But there are no immediate reports of any serious damage.

The storm is expected to cross the island's south before weakening and heading for the Chinese mainland. Emergency services are on standby in Fujian province in case of another landing.

And thirdly there will be nearly one-meter-high's upsurging of tides. Fourthly, it will bring heavy rainfall to the northeastern part of Fujian."
