Moscow’s military Parade kicks-off at 10:00 local time in Red Square. The event is being held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Soviet army parade on November 7th 1941.

The troops taking part in the event were redeployed directly to the front lines of World War Two. Since then, military parades have been held annually in Red Square, which is used for various public ceremonies in the Russian capital. Rehearsals held six days ago attracted as many as 7,000 spectators.

It was the first dress rehearsal to include all the participants set to take part on the big day. Two rehearsals and three drills have already been carried out ahead of today’s event. Veterans who participated in the 1941 army parade will also be present, along with many participants dressed in military uniforms from the past.

More than 1,000 people will take part in the reenactment march, which will also feature WWII military equipment, including the legendary Soviet Katusha rocket launchers, and T-34 tanks.
