Officials from Libya's National Transitional Council are set to announce the formation of a new government.

The interim prime minister Abdel Rahim al-Kib's says he hopes to form a government made of technocrats. But the country still faces pressure from tribes and armed factions who have shown signs of wanting to play a role in the new cabinet, especially after the capture of Muammar Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam on Saturday.

The NTC has appointed 4 ministers, as authorities try to achieve a delicate balance between competing factions. Libya has been through 6-months of civil war as rebels fought against Muammar Gaddafi, who ruled the country for 30 years. The force opposing him established an interim governing body, the National Transitional Council.
