US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, has held a series of meetings on the sidelines of the NATO foreign ministers gathering in Brussels.

She first met with her Turkish counterpart, Ahmet Davutoglu, on Wednesday. Among other issues, the two discussed Syria and Iran. Clinton also met with the Italian foreign minister, Giulio Terzi di Sant’Agata.

It was their first meeting since he was appointed to the post in Italy’s new government. Clinton signed an agreement with Slovak foreign minister, Mikulas Dzurinda, aimed at combating the smuggling of nuclear and radioactive materials.

Slovakia is the ninth country to sign such an agreement with the US, and is the first EU and NATO member country to do so.
