Over a million lives were lost at the end of what the then US president George Bush announced as the beginning of “War Game.”

Almost nine years later, the war has ended, but the game continues…

Ironically, what was called “Operation Iraqi Freedom” achieved the status of a new-age three D video game named after the mission…

As the game begins, the player is asked to “Kill All Iraqis”.

Adham, inspired by the US pop music, tries to set a mood.

Many believe, the graphically visualized video games, showing trigger-happy US marines would only enrage hatred among the next generation of both the US and Iraq.

Parent of Abu Jamil said, “When a child watches war films and plays war games, it affects him psychologically, later they grow up with a negative thinking, which is very bad. They should play outdoor games.”

13 years old suhab vaguely remembers the thundering sounds of bombs and combat helicopters, as he sat and prayed in the basement of his home in Baghdad, with his family. The US invasion had begun.

Student Suhaib said, “I grew up in war time, so I like both war and peace. I want to grow up to be a soldier and defend my country, I’m happy the Americans are leaving, the explosions will also end.”

Hundreds of Hollywood flicks worth billions of dollars have been produced to project distorted war history.

Vietnam, Pearl Harbor, God of war, top gun and Rambo are classic examples, out of a long list.

Arcade owner Hassan said, “Mostly the children who come here like war games, they tell me they want to kill other people online.”

Many believe that it is America’s way of projecting and building up propaganda to justify the human rights violations and unjust killings.

Danial Khan said, Experts believe, watching violent films and playing combat videogames effect the developing minds of children. They say that parents should indulge them in other recreational activities…Or else the child grows up being brain washed, not too unlike the suicide bombers trained by terrorists.
