Michele Bachmann has announced she is quitting the presidential race.

Bachmann shot at the presidency started in August 2011 when she won a Republican straw poll in Iowa.

Following that, she polled highly and at times was even a frontrunner. But her campaign steadily lost support, beginning with Rick Perry’s entry into the race. Her decision leaves her supporters up for grabs and she has not said who she will back.
