In Kenya, the UN refugee agency has set up a special protection area in Kakuma for nearly 400 refugees from six nations who have been targeted as a result of Sudan's civil war.

The Kakuma camp is home to more than 60-thousand people from across the African continent, all crammed on a small piece of land on the populated plains of the Great Rift Valley in the country’s north.

South Sudan is still struggling to rebuild and tackle rebel and tribal bloodshed that has killed about 1-thousand people in recent months following reprisal attacks over cattle raids.

The UN says up to 50-thousand people have fled violence in a remote border area of South Sudan, after days of clashes between the Lou Nuer and Murle communities.
