Q1: French President Nicolas Sarkozy will meet Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti on Friday. There will also be a series of meetings ahead of the EU leaders summit. Do you think these meetings will produce some kind of consensus?

Q2: Germany and France seem set to push for the introduction of an European financial transaction tax at the EU leader’s summit later this month. Given Britain’s opposition to this tax how easy will it be to implement?

Q3: Eurozone resilience will be tested today as France comes to the markets with its first bond issue of 2012. How have French bond sales fared up until now?

Q4: It’s not just nerves surrounding the French bond auction driving European markets down today; announcements from both Spain and Greece have also been causing alarm. Can you tell us more about this?
