Spring Festival celebration is the most important festival for the Chinese people, but China isn’t the only country celebrating the annual event. Australia, Europe, and America are all firing up for the Year of Dragon.

Sydney is full decor for the lunar new year with red lanterns, Chinese cuisine and traditional lion dancing. For local families, it’s a great time to get out, and experience a different culture.

Eddie, Sydney Resident, said, "I like the way the do things differently from the usual calendar. They actually look out for signs from the heaven rather than a set of numbers. And also, apart from that, look, the culture, the food of the culture is just fantastic."

Prague Resident, said,"It is for me the first time when I enjoy the Chinese New Year events, but as you know now the world is changing step by step, and I try to study the Chinese language."

In San Francisco, US, a mini parade will be put on for the year of Dragon. Drummers, stilt walkers, fan dancers, and of course a dragon, all rehearsed for a march through the city’s famous Chinatown.

Student, Starr King Elementar School, said, "Just practice and practice and practice..."

Last year, students from Starr King Elementary won first prize in the marching competition. Thousands of spectators will gather as the winners are named for the lucky year of Dragon.
