Israeli air strikes kills 10 Palestinian militants

Two Palestinians were killed early Saturday in a new Israeli airstrike on the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia, raising the death toll to ten in Israel's raid on the Palestinian area since Friday afternoon. The worst flare-ups along the restive border in months.

More than 14 Palestinians were injured, five of them in critical conditions.Two militant leaders died in an strike launched Friday, after two rockets were fired at Israel from the coastal territory. The Israeli military said it had launched air strikes in response to more than 30 rockets fired at Israel by militants.

Israel also says the militants were preparing to attack Israel across the Egyptian border in the "coming days," suggesting that the air attacks were ordered to stop the planned assault.
