Around 100 protesters calling for an end to military rule in Egypt have clashed with soldiers outside the US embassy in Cairo. Protesters lobbed stones at the soldiers as they tried to disperse the crowd.

Earlier, two civilian groups, one of them demanding the expulsion of the US ambassador, hurled stones at each other in front of the US embassy.
