London 2012 Olympics: Street-by-street map of Olympic torch relay route revealed

A detailed plan for the London 2012 Olympic torch relay has been officially released, including the exact route and names of 7,300 torch-bearers.

Most of the torch-bearers are members of the public chosen for embodying community spirit, courage and sporting determination. The youngest will be just 12 while the oldest will be 100 when the relay takes place. A further 700 runners will be made up of athletes and celebrities - bringing the grand total to 8,000.

The torch relay begins at Land’s End - the westernmost tip of England - on May 19th. Torch-bearers will carry the flame across Britain with a stop in Dublin, Ireland. London’s Olympic Games will be held from July 27 to August 12.
