Hollande unveils plans to boost economy

French presidential candidate Francois Hollande says that if he wins the run-off election on May 6th he will immediately submit to European leaders four proposals. The proposals are aimed to help boost France’s economic growth.

The four proposals include the introduction of eurobonds to finance industrial infrastructure projects, the creation of a financial transaction tax, more financing possibilities for the European Investment Bank and the mobilization of unused European structural funds.

Hollande also threatens, that if elected, he will refuse to submit the EU Fiscal Compact to parliament for ratification unless a chapter or annex is included on strategies to bolster growth and employment.
